The Texas Bronc Riders Association was founded in 2015 by a group of cowboys who saw a need that wasn't being met for professional bronc riders and youth wanting to learn to bronc ride. The Texas Bronc Riders Association's main goal is to help the youth reach their dreams as bronc riders.

The mission of the Texas Bronc Riders Association is to provide bronc riders an opportunity to develop their skills through sanctioned schools and events and to promote education through academic scholarships.

The TBRA also incorporated the Ladies Bronc Riding Challenge in 2016, beginning with Montana's Brittany Miller and over time, including ladies from the ranks of Professional Women's Rodeo Association bull and bareback riders, jumping horses, ranch rodeo and roller derby - some seasoned veterans of the event, some performed for the first time in front of a nail-biting crowd - but all having the guts to attempt to conquer the sport they love.
